I've never seen a matched four car brown or maroon set. Two car sets in boxes with Maroon 8E locos are common. The setbox has car and loco boxes inside.
If they came in a set, I'd guess uncataloged with a dark gray 318 in very limited quantities. But they were probably never sold in 4-car sets.
Based on the sets I've seen, the cars don't match. If they were sold in sets they would match. You can find a maroon 38 set with cars that match in orange, and a 50 set with 4 cars that match in dark olive.
Here's what I mean by matching cars:
I only have a brown 32 baggage and 2 35 with a 36 in maroon. Not even a matched set. All have slots in the trucks for lights so are from after 1924.
My 32 has 100 series trucks and wood tanks says "No. 32" on end with LL stamp on other side of door and corp stamp on bottom. This has coupler mounted to car with swedged post. This might be the newest car I have with the LL stamp on the end by the door. This car frame has two slots for the three hole steps.
A 35 has later 500 series truck without the slot and "No. 35" on end. This has the roller mounted to a crossbrace. The other 35/36 are a pair and have side slots in 500 series trucks with the rollers mounted to the bolstyers and just the number 35 or 36 on end with oil labels on bottom. Note that the earlier car body has later trucks. All three have stamped brass steps that mount into four slots and latch couplers in pockets. The observation has the late 0 gauge type railing.
