Macy Special 1936 Baby Rail Chief

this set is pretty rare...1936 version has a 1689T, `37 has a 1688w satin black..love this color combo too..

Great set, I have seen them before but never in such nice condition. Is there special markings for the color on the ends of the boxes? If so can you post a picture of the box ends, thanks. Jim

Hi Jim--no boxes for my set but I do know the car boxes all had a "R" stamped on both end flaps..Murph

I bought two of the cars years ago with a I believe 1588 tender, 4 wheels, but with a whistle. Was able to get the three cars later and the 259e with nickle trim to make it right.  I am assuming the tender is correct as it came with the cars from a non train guy.

its got really nice factory enamel paint on it, I did use OZ polish and it came out great
